They charged the defibrillator and shocked him. His pulse returned, but shortly after disappeared again. He kept suffering cardiac arrests, where his pulse would disappear. The crew would shock him and his pulse would re-appear. The crew could not move him until he was stable enough. He was shocked 12 times before he was stable enough to be carried into the helicopter and airlifted to Hospital.
