Whether you are breast feeding or not, you will notice an increase in the size of your breasts 3 days after birth. Up until 2, 3 or 4 days after giving birth, the breasts don’t produce milk, they produce Colostrum – which is baby’s first food. Your breasts may become engorged which can be painful. The best way to relieve this is to feed on demand.
If you decide not to breastfeed, you may still notice some milk production. If you are not breastfeeding, the milk should dry up about 2 weeks after giving birth, but it can take longer for some women.
