Why baby name meaning is important
Baby name meanings may take various forms in different and diverse cultures. However, there is very little a baby can do when the parents use their logic and reasoning of naming to fix up a name. There could be various reasons that lurkWhen the baby grows up and finds out the real meaning of his/her name, owing to passage of time, difference in culture and modernization, he/she could find their name to mean something that fits them or just the opposite resulting in expression of sad, unfortunate, ironic or hilarious feelings.
Many common names that we come across in daily life have meanings that are far removed from one’s imagination. The meanings also differ from culture to culture. The following could be a few examples:
- Badu - Afrikaan name means "10th child"
- Winona - Sioux name means "1st born daughter"
- Aaliyah - Arabic name means "High or exciting"
- Hilary - Latin name means "Cheerful"
Various cultures have various traditions and religious considerations while following the naming conventions and name meanings. For example, Indian and Hindu names follow a very positive track and name the babies after positive things in life such as beauty, blessing, truth, happiness etc. or after one of the Hindu gods.
- "Kaur" - means "Princess"
- "Singh" - means "Lion"
Despite all naming conventions, surpassing all cultures, I feel that all baby names have the same meaning "bundle of joy" and I am sure every parent agrees with me.
