Children’s books is a forever growing industry and heralds an opportunity of growth for many writers who specialize in writing for children. The incredible growth rate that this industry has shown, however, may result in going against the writers involved and the industry itself.Issues with childrens books
The industry has recently publicized and expanded more into publications that are in serials or into packaged books for the average children. Children, whose skills and intellect is above average have no good reading material and have been forced to turn themselves towards classics. The more recent publications are no different from the cable or the network TV programs that go on and on, episode after episode.Despite having some special and great episodes, these class of child books have mostly failed to capture the children’s imagination. Kids that they are, they don’t realize the difference until they grow up and it is too late.

Added to this is the commercialization of children’s books that have brought in too many writers resulting in a great lack of material and imagination. This is the short term could benefit a few writers but in the long term will hurt the children and the writers on the same scale. Money has always rendered in ousting of originality, creativity and freedom. Risk being the main factor, publishers refrain from making use of new ideas. They want to sell the old stories that have sold before.Focus on quality has been lost when it comes to big money. Quality should be given priority over quantity in the children’s books industry.
