Baby Boy

Parents of baby boys often say that they are different to baby girls. It is hard to say, apart from the obvious differences that is. What shapes a child is their environment and their genetic make-up. What we don't know is what makes a baby boy want to play with boy games. Are they born with a disposition towards boys toys or are they pointed in that direction because parents automatically give boys more boyish toys.

Likewise with girls, parents tend to give them dolls, prams and female orientated toys to play with. We all know girls who prefer to play football or boys who play with dolls and there is nothing wrong with this except that it contrivines the gender rules that we unofficially put in place.

The bottom line is that whether your child is a baby boy or girl, the one thing that they do need is a loving and caring environment where they have support to live their life in a happy and rewarding way.
